aboutLaunched in 2024, Seatown Story Collective was born from Kristin Leong and Jerome Hunter's shared enthusiasm for trouble making, storytelling, and the potential of young people to shake the world. Both Kristin and Jerome are award-winning educators, and longtime friends and creative collaborators.
All Seatown Story Collective courses are developed by Jerome and Kristin, and supported by TED-Ed Student Talks frameworks. Our inspiration starts and ends with diverse first person sources, and all of our classes include multiple opportunities for amplifying our students' unique stories. Equity, social-emotional skill building, and evidence-based learning objectives are at the heart of our curriculum, and we center lived experiences from historically underrepresented perspectives in all of our work. Both Kristin and Jerome are biracial, first generation scholars with endless love and gratitude for the single moms, teachers, students, and community organizers who have made their paths possible. |
